Terms of Service
These Terms govern the use of Lingot, an AI-assisted language learning service provided by MAVILIO Corporation, Japan.
By using Lingot, creating an account, or purchasing credits, you accept these Terms. For questions, you can write to support@lingot.net.
1. What Lingot is
Lingot helps users study languages through lessons, conversations, exercises, corrections, teaching content, and tools based on artificial intelligence.
Lingot is not an accredited school, does not issue official certifications, and does not guarantee that a specific language level will be achieved.
2. Account
To use some functions, you may need to create an account.
The user must provide correct information, keep credentials confidential, and notify us in case of unauthorized access.
The user is responsible for activities carried out through their account.
3. Lings and credits
Lingot works through credits called Lings.
Lings can be purchased and used to access AI functions, sessions, exercises, content, audio, corrections, or other activities available in the service.
Lings consumption may vary depending on the type of function, duration, AI model, technical cost, or service settings.
Lings are not electronic money, have no monetary value outside Lingot, are not transferable, and cannot be converted into cash.
Unless otherwise indicated at the time of purchase, purchased Lings expire 12 months after the purchase date. Promotional, bonus, or free Lings may have different conditions and expiration dates.
4. Prices and changes
We may modify prices, plans, functions, limits, AI models, service availability, and Lings consumption methods.
Changes do not affect payments already completed, except for technical, legal, security, or abuse-prevention needs.
5. Payments
Payments are handled through Stripe or other providers indicated at the time of purchase.
Lingot does not store full payment card data. Stripe and other payment providers process data according to their own terms and policies.
The user is responsible for taxes, fees, currency exchange, or costs applied by their payment method, bank, or country.
6. Permitted use
Lingot may be used for personal, professional, school, or organizational purposes, provided that the use complies with the law, these Terms, and the service rules.
The user may not use Lingot for:
- illegal, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activities;
- violent, discriminatory, defamatory, sexually explicit, harassing, or offensive content;
- spam, phishing, impersonation, or manipulation of other users;
- unauthorized collection of personal data;
- insertion of third-party personal data without right or consent;
- attempts at unauthorized access, scraping, reverse engineering, circumvention of limits, or API abuse;
- generation of content that violates third-party rights or applicable rules.
7. Suspension or closure
We may limit, suspend, or close an account in case of abuse, violation of the Terms, risk to the service, non-payment, fraud, harmful behavior, or legal obligation.
In case of suspension or closure for abuse or violation of the Terms, remaining Lings are not refundable.
8. User content
The user keeps the rights to the content they enter in Lingot.
By using the service, the user authorizes Lingot to process such content to the extent necessary to provide functions, lessons, corrections, conversations, support, security, and operational improvement of the service.
The user guarantees that they have the right to enter the content they use in Lingot.
9. Artificial intelligence
AI-generated responses may contain errors, inaccuracies, omissions, or wording unsuitable for the context.
Lingot is a study support tool, not an infallible source. The user must independently verify important content, especially if used in professional, legal, medical, academic, or official contexts.
Some functions depend on external services, including AI providers, hosting, payments, and infrastructure. MAVILIO Corporation and Lingot do not fully control availability, timing, errors, or changes to those external services.
10. Service availability
We try to keep Lingot stable and available, but we do not guarantee continuous access, absence of interruptions, absence of errors, or permanent compatibility with every device, browser, or country.
We may suspend or modify the service for maintenance, security, updates, technical problems, operational costs, legal obligations, or business decisions.
11. Minors
Lingot is intended for users who are at least 16 years old.
Users under 16 may use Lingot only with the consent of a parent or guardian, or through an authorized school or organization.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Lingot is provided "as is" and "as available".
MAVILIO Corporation is not liable for indirect losses, missed learning results, interruptions, AI errors, loss of opportunities, damages arising from improper use of the service, or problems caused by external providers.
Nothing in these Terms limits liabilities that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms when the service, prices, functions, providers, or legal obligations change.
The updated version will be published on the site. By continuing to use Lingot after the update, you accept the new Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of Japan, without prejudice to any mandatory rights recognized to the user by the law of their country of residence.
